Some birds fly south when winter's here,
To warmer lands they'll soon adhere,
But those who stay must still survive,
With frosty winds and icy dives.
They huddle close in a flock,
To keep each other warm and block,
The biting cold that's all around,
And wait until the snow's on the ground.
Then when the season's at an end,
They'll spread their wings and all ascend,
To fly away to distant places,
Where they'll find sunnier spaces.
But when the days grow warm once more,
And winter's chill is felt no more,
They'll make their way back to this place,
With joy and cheer upon each face.
So some birds fly and some birds stay,
To live another wintry day,
And whether they migrate or not,
They all survive, that's what they've got.
