Poem Reading text

The title for this story could be "Sharing is Caring".

A group of friends learn to share and work together after a fight over toys, realizing that the result is always better when they put their differences aside.

Read together

Once upon a time, in a land far away,
Lived a group of friends who loved to play.
But one day, they got into a fight,
And one of them got really mad, not feeling quite right.

The friends had built a pile of toys,
And each wanted more than the others, making too much noise.
But as they argued and began to split,
They realized their actions were not quite fit.

So they stopped and took a deep breath,
And tried to think of a solution that was the best.
They knew that sharing was the way to go,
And decided to split the pile equally, so.

As they worked together, something strange occurred,
The pile seemed to grow bigger, this was not absurd.
For when you share and work together,
The result is always better, not just a matter of whether.

And so the friends learned a valuable lesson,
That sharing and working together is always the best expression.
For when we put our differences aside,
We can achieve great things and make the world a better ride.

Talk about it

Reflection

Here are some questions to ask kids to think about the story:

  1. How did the friends feel when they were arguing over the pile of toys?
  2. What did the friends realize when they decided to split the pile of toys equally?
  3. What happened to the pile of toys when the friends worked together to share them?
  4. Why do you think sharing is important?
  5. Can you think of a time when you had to share with someone else? How did it make you feel?
