Animals big and small,
Are important to us all,
They give us milk and cheese,
And help plants grow with ease.

But where do animals come from,
And how does food become,
The nourishment we need to grow,
And keep our bodies in the know?

Well, plants are where it all starts,
From seeds that grow in our yards,
They turn sunlight into food,
And provide us with a healthy mood.

Animals eat plants for energy,
And sometimes even other animals, you see,
And from them we get our cheese,
And other foods that make us say, "Please!"

So next time you wonder where,
Your food comes from, stop and stare,
At the plants and animals all around,
And give thanks for the abundance that abounds.
