Space Adventure: The Boy Who Saved the Day

Come gather 'round, young ones, and hear
A story of adventure, without fear
A lesson to learn, a tale to be told
Of a boy who was brave, and daring, and bold

He put on his suit, and said "I'll be back"
As he climbed into his spaceship, ready to attack
With his blaster at his side, he aimed for the stars
Determined to stop the aliens, who had come from afar

They wanted to take over, and conquer our land
But he wouldn't let them, he had a plan
He dodged their attacks, and shot back with his blaster
And soon, the aliens knew they had met their disaster

He chased them away, and saved the day
And the people cheered, "Hooray! Hooray!"
He landed his spaceship, and stepped out with pride
"You did it!" they said, with joy in their eyes

But the boy just smiled, and kicked his kickball
"I couldn't have done it without you all"
And so, the lesson we learned, is to never give in
Just like the boy, we too can win.

Reflections

Here are a few questions to ask kids to think about the story:

  1. What was the boy's plan to stop the alien invaders?
  2. How did the boy feel when he landed his spaceship and stepped out to the cheering crowd?
  3. Why do you think the boy thanked the people for their help?
  4. If you were in the boy's shoes, what would you have done to stop the aliens from taking over Earth?
  5. What do you think the boy learned from his space adventure?
