Building a Wall with Stones and Love

Once upon a time, not long ago,
A truck drove by, moving slow,
It carried stones, big and gray,
To build a wall, on this day.

Under the sun, they worked hard,
Stacking stones, yard by yard,
On a simple table made of wood,
They placed each stone, where it should.

These stones were heavy, some were round,
But they didn't stop, they stood their ground,
And with each passing year, they grew,
Strong and sturdy, like they were new.

The first stone laid, was still there,
A symbol of hard work, and of care,
For every stone that came to be,
Was placed with love, and history.

So when you see a wall of stone,
Remember, it wasn't built alone,
It took a truck, some wood, and more,
To create the wall that stands before.

And though it may seem like a chore,
To stack each stone, and even more,
It's the little things we do, you see,
That make the biggest history.

Reflections

  1. What was the truck carrying and where was it going?
  2. What did the workers use to build the wall?
  3. Why did the workers take care to place each stone where it should be?
  4. What was the first stone laid and why is it important?
  5. What can we learn from the story about hard work and care?
