Chuck the Monkey Learns to Be Kind

In the jungle where the trees are tall,
And the animals roam free for all,
Lived a little monkey named Chuck,
Who loved to play and run amok.

He'd swing from branches with such ease,
And do acrobatics with such breeze,
But when his friends would come to play,
Chuck would often have a say.

He'd charge at them with all his might,
And burst out laughing with delight,
He'd growl like a tiger, big and strong,
And tease them all day long.

One day his friends had had enough,
And told Chuck that he was too rough,
"You bother us with all your play,
And we don't want to be teased all day!"

Chuck felt bad and hung his head,
He didn't want his friends to be upset,
He promised to be gentle and kind,
And not to yank them from behind.

Now Chuck's the nicest monkey you'll meet,
He plays with friends with gentle feet,
He learned that teasing isn't fun,
And being kind is number one.
