The Lessons of the Civil War: A Journey Through History

In a time long ago, a great war was fought,
Brother against brother, in battles distraught.
The Civil War it was called, a terrible strife,
But from it came freedom, and a new way of life.

Inventors were busy, creating machines,
To help with the crops, and fulfill people's dreams.
Respect was important, for each and every soul,
No matter their color, or the role they did hold.

Professors taught children, the ways of the land,
How to grow crops, and care for the sand.
The soil was crucial, to make things grow,
And with careful attention, it would surely show.

In Congress, the leaders made important decisions,
To guide the nation, and uphold its traditions.
And there were many famous people, we still know today,
Who worked hard for justice, in their own special way.

Though slavery was ended, the fight was not done,
For equality and fairness, must still be won.
So let's remember the past, and all that it taught,
And work towards a future, where everyone is sought.
