Let's learn about a system, so metric and fine,
Used for measuring things, like height and spine,
We can measure distance, from here to there,
Or the temperature outside, if it's hot or rare.

Tall or short, we can measure with ease,
In metric units, it's a breeze,
Height is measured in centimeters, you see,
Not in inches, like the old English decree.

Weight is measured in grams or kilograms,
Not in pounds or stones, like a grand slam,
So, next time you weigh yourself, just recall,
Metric is the way, it measures all.

Now, kids, you know how to measure with glee,
Using the metric system, accurately,
It's easy to learn, and fun to apply,
So let's use it well, until the day we die.

Reflection

  1. What did the cat do that was mischievous or adventurous?
  2. How did the cat's owners react to her explorations?
  3. What was the cat's favorite thing she discovered on her adventures?
  4. How did the cat's adventures change her personality or behavior?
  5. What would you do if you were a cat and could explore the world like the cat in the story?
