Read together

Once upon a time, in a land far away
There were people who were treated wrong every day
They were taken from their homes, forced into slavery
Their rights were denied, it was a tragedy

But some refused to accept their fate
They fought for what was right, they wouldn't wait
The Civil War was fought, and finally won
Slavery was abolished, and justice was done

There were marches held, to stand up for what's fair
To show that everyone should have equal care
Ministers preached, about love and unity
And soon people saw, that separation was a cruelty

Now we look back, and we remember with pride
The brave ones who fought, and never did hide
We know that everyone deserves to be free
And we'll always stand up for equality.

Talk about it
