Exploring the Enchanted Forest

In the land of rivers and streams,
There's a world full of wonders, it seems.
From the mountains high up above,
To the valleys below filled with love.

A floodplain is where the waters go,
When the rain falls down and starts to flow.
It's a place where the soil is rich and bright,
Filled with nutrients, a plant's delight.

Groundwater is found below the ground,
A source of life that's often found.
It's the water that the plants all need,
To grow up tall and strong indeed.

Sediment is the dirt and sand,
That's carried along with the river's grand.
It's the earth that's left behind,
When the water goes and we unwind.

A tributary is a river small,
That feeds into a bigger one, overall.
It's like a family, all together,
Working to make the river better.

A watershed is where the water goes,
A place that nature really knows.
It's the land that surrounds the river,
And it's where the water starts to quiver.

A delta is where the river meets the sea,
A place where the water is happy and free.
It's where the sand and water mix,
And the sunshine shines on it's tricks.

Pollute is a word we all should know,
It means to dirty up, and to make it so.
We need to be careful and take care,
To keep the water clean and fair.

So let's all work to keep the water pure,
And make sure that our world can endure.
Let's be kind to the water and the land,
And make sure that nature can always stand.
