The Little Seed That Grew Tall

In the forest green and grand,
There's a tale I have at hand.
Of a little seed so small,
That it hoped to grow up tall.

It nestled in the ground so deep,
With a seed coat to safely keep,
The nutrients that it would need,
To grow up strong, without a weed.

It felt the warmth of the sun,
And heard the highway's hum.
The traffic was loud and clear,
But the little seed felt no fear.

It drank the sap from the soil,
And began to sprout with joyous toil.
With leaves so green and full,
It felt so happy and wonderful.

It turned deciduous in the fall,
And its leaves turned red and all.
It shed them, but not to fret,
For it knew that it would be back, you bet.

With chlorophyll in its veins,
It felt the breeze and danced in rains.
It stood so tall and true,
And did everything it could do.

To protect the forest, it stayed,
And in the sunshine it swayed.
With nutrients, traffic, and all,
It grew up big and strong, standing tall.
