The Curious Little One and the Mountain of Lava

Once upon a time, in a land far away,
There lived a curious little one, who loved to play,
She explored every corner, without any fear,
And one day stumbled upon a mountain, so near.

It was made of granite, hard as a rock,
And she wondered what lay beneath the block,
So she gave it a knock, and to her surprise,
The mountain rumbled, and spewed out lava in disguise.

The little one was amazed, at the sight she did see,
But she knew it was time, to return home, with glee,
Her mother made her some warm porridge, to eat,
And she ate it all up, without any retreat.

As she lay in her bed, she heard a loud groan,
And saw that the mountain had grown and grown,
But she knew that she could resist the urge,
To explore the mountain, and not to splurge.

For the little one knew, that sometimes it's best,
To let things be, and not put them to the test,
And so she closed her eyes, and drifted off to sleep,
Dreaming of the mountain, that was now so deep.

And the little one smiled, for she knew in her heart,
That sometimes it's good, to take a step back and depart,
From the things that are dangerous, and can cause harm,
And so she lived happily ever after, on her farm.

Reflections

  1. What made the little one curious about the mountain of granite, and what did she do to satisfy her curiosity?
  2. What did the little one see and hear when she knocked on the mountain, and what was her reaction?
  3. What did the little one's mother do to help her after she returned from her adventure, and how did the little one feel about it?
  4. Why did the little one resist the urge to explore the mountain again, and what did she learn from her experience?
  5. What can we do to satisfy our curiosity and learn new things while also staying safe and avoiding harm?
