In a canoe on the riverbank,
We gingerly set off to thank,
The sycamore for its shade so cool,
As we paddled and splashed in the pool.
We maneuvered through the gentle flow,
As the catfish swam down below,
And the bow of our boat cut through,
The water clear and oh so blue.
But then we spied a whirlpool's might,
And we held on with all our might,
As we twirled and spun round and round,
Before we knew it, we'd been unbound.
We landed safe, our hearts a-flutter,
And watched a snake slither and mutter,
While we marveled at all we'd seen,
And thanked the river for being so serene.
