In the earth deep and down below,
A process happens, don't you know?
Sediments settle, layer by layer,
Overburden adding weight like a player.
Sometimes the ground can't take the strain,
A trigger sets it off like a chain,
And a sinkhole forms, a sudden hole,
That can swallow up things like a mole.
It's hard to predict when it might occur,
But the signs are there, you can be sure.
Cracks in the ground, and sinkholes nearby,
Are warning signals you can't deny.
So if you see a sinkhole, don't be afraid,
Just stay away, and don't invade.
The earth is always changing, that's true,
And we should respect it, me and you.
