Braving the Shadows

In the shadows they may lurk,
But don't be scared, just take a perk,
Inspect the darkness, take a look,
And soon you'll find, there's nothing to be shook.

Hunker down and take a breath,
Gasp for air, and avoid the death,
For sometimes things can petrify,
But adequate courage will help you get by.

Allow yourself to be convinced,
That there's no need to be minced,
For the opposite of fear is courage,
And bravery will help you flourish.

So return to the light, my friend,
And the darkness will come to an end,
And as you walk with confidence,
You'll find that you have made a difference.

And as you walk, with head held high,
You'll realize there's no need to cry,
For with courage, you can overcome,
And the battle against fear will be won.

So remember these words, and don't be shy,
For with bravery, you can touch the sky.
