Lost in the Woods

In hockey there's a position,
That's truly important to mention,
It's the goalie who stands tall,
And stops pucks from hitting the wall.

But the defense is just as key,
They block shots and keep the puck free,
Together they make a great team,
And winning games is their dream.

In the playoffs, it's time to shine,
Every game, every play is on the line,
They must compete with all their might,
And make sure to play just right.

A record of wins is what they seek,
And every victory they shall keep,
But win or lose, they must always believe,
In themselves, in their team, and what they achieve.

And at the end of the game,
When they've played with heart and without shame,
They'll receive cheers and applause,
For giving it their all and never pausing.
