The Blackout: A Story of Sacrifice and Responsibility

In days of old, a blackout came,
The world grew dark, it wasn't the same.
But with ration books and canned goods too,
We made it through, our spirits anew.

We shipped out scrap to build up our might,
And warden's watched us day and night.
Responsibility fell on all our shoulders,
For each of us to do what we ought to.

Sometimes we felt disappointed,
But sacrifices were necessary, we were appointed
To do our part and help our land,
To keep it safe, we lent a hand.

So kids, remember this lesson true,
That when things get tough, there's a job to do.
We must work together, we must be strong,
And with sacrifice, we'll triumph before too long.
