Come gather 'round, kids, I have a story to tell,
About a precious thing we must all protect so well.
It's called biodiversity, a fancy word indeed,
But what it means is simple, it's the variety we need.
The rainforest is a place where biodiversity thrives,
And yet, there are those who put it in their sights.
They chop down trees for ore, and do it illegally,
Without a thought for conservation, or how it affects the ecology.
Deforestation is the result, a tragedy we can't ignore,
For the animals that call it home, there may be no more.
But fear not, dear children, there's something we can do,
To protect our planet and its wonders too.
We can raise awareness, and share this vital message,
That we must protect our forests, for the sake of our heritage.
We can support conservation efforts, and stand up to the illegal,
For it's up to us to keep our world safe and stable.
So let's celebrate biodiversity, and all its beauty and wonder,
And work to protect our planet, for generations yet to come.
