The Brave Little Mouse and the Hungry Cat

In the canteen at my school,
We sometimes hear a hoarse voice drool,
The bully's words, they sound like bosh,
But we don't let them make us feel like slosh.

We eat our flapjacks on a pallet,
And sometimes share them with our kin,
We joke and laugh and have some fun,
Until the day is done.

I once saw an apprentice work,
He looked so perplexed and slightly berserk,
But he kept on trying with all his might,
And soon he got it right.

At my homestead, we love to play,
We blow up balloons and watch them sway,
And when they burst, we laugh and shout,
As we run around without a doubt.

So kids, remember, life is fun,
Even when it seems like it's just begun,
Take heart and keep on trying out,
And never let the bullies make you pout.

  3. Do you think the mouse was brave for standing up to the cat, even though it was much smaller?
  4. What would you have done if you were in the mouse's situation?
  5. What do you think the cat learned from the experience?
