Journey to a New Beginning

In the heart of the ocean, so wide and so blue,
A mast stood tall, with a flag that flew.
The rafters creaked and swayed with the waves,
But the stern held strong, and kept them safe.

On board were people from far and wide,
Immigrants searching for a place to reside.
They left their homes, their land, their kin,
And set sail for a new life to begin.

But the journey was long, and hard to bear,
With little food and water to spare.
Famine struck, and hunger grew strong,
But they held on, and prayed all day long.

As they journeyed on, a hatch was found,
And inside were the makings, enough to go around.
They cooked and ate, and their spirits rose high,
And they knew they'd make it, if they tried.

The ocean was vast, and the journey was tough,
But they never gave up, they were strong enough.
And finally, one day, they reached the shore,
A new beginning, a life to explore.

So if you ever feel like giving up,
Just remember the immigrants, and their courage and pluck.
They faced the unknown, and they made it through,
And you can too, if you try and pursue.

  3. What did the hatch contain and how did it help the immigrants?
  4. Why do you think the immigrants decided to leave their home country?
  5. What can we learn from the immigrants' journey and their ability to overcome challenges?
