Come gather round, my young friends, and hear
A story of nature, far and near
Of creatures great and creatures small
And how they live, and thrive, and sprawl

The food chain's where we'll start our tale
With prey and predators, without fail
The rabbit nibbles on the grass
But beware, a fox may come to pass

Each animal's part of the chain
And their role is never quite the same
But data shows us, clear and bright
That every link must be just right

Competition can be tough, it's true
When animals must fight for their food
But those who adapt and learn to thrive
Will be the ones who come out alive

Examine now the population's size
How many animals live and thrive
If one species grows too large and strong
Others suffer, their numbers gone

So friends, remember what we've learned
About nature, and how it's turned
With knowledge, we can understand
And help protect this wondrous land.
