The Magic Garden

Opportunities are all around,
In every city and every town,
The world is your destination,
Explore it with imagination.

But don't impose your will on others,
We must all be sisters and brothers,
No quotas on who can come in,
Let everyone have a chance to win.

We welcome the influx of diversity,
It adds to our collective prosperity,
From every corner of the earth,
People of every ethnicity and worth.

Immigration can be a problem,
But legal routes can help us solve them,
We want to help every immigrant,
Not persecute them for being different.

Remember the indentured servant,
Who came to this land with a purpose fervent,
Let's learn from the past and move ahead,
Embracing all, no matter how they've been led.

  2. What were some of the magical creatures they encountered, and which one was your favorite?
  3. How did the garden change over the course of the story, and why do you think that happened?
  4. Do you think the magic garden was real, or just a product of the children's imagination? Why?
  5. What would you do if you discovered a secret garden like the one in the story?
