Read together
In days of old, a story is told
Of a land far away and brave and bold
Where colonies, they did abound
And people lived on every ground
The Loyalists were true and just
Their loyalty to the king was a must
They fought with all their might and skill
To keep their land free and still
The Patriots rose up, full of fire
They yearned for independence to inspire
They fought for their rights and freedom too
And stood up to the redcoats, tried and true
The Rebels were a feisty crew
They fought against the king, it's true
But they knew they couldn't do it alone
So they sought allies to call their own
Together they fought, side by side
With courage, they did not hide
For freedom and liberty, they would stand
For their country, their beloved land
So let us remember this story old
Of the colonies, the brave and the bold
For they fought for what was right and true
And their spirit lives on in me and you.
Talk about it
