Exploring the World from a New Perspective: Climbing the Big Oak Tree

Hold my hand and come with me,
Let's climb up that big oak tree,
We'll touch the leaves so soft and green,
And learn about the world we've seen.

Now let's take a moment to pause,
And brush off any dirt or cause,
To make sure our hands are clean,
For all the wonders we have yet to glean.

When we reach the top, let's clap with glee,
And look out at all that we can see,
And when it's time to head back down,
We'll know we've gained new knowledge to carry around.

Reflections

  1. What do you think the speaker means by "learn about the world we've seen" when climbing the big oak tree?
  2. Why do you think the speaker wants to make sure their hands are clean before exploring the wonders at the top of the tree?
  3. How might climbing a tree and seeing the world from a different perspective help us gain new knowledge?
