Adventurers of the Northwest Passage

Come gather 'round, little ones so dear,
And listen to a story, without fear,
Of an expedition that set forth,
To find a path, that was far North.

A group of nomads, brave and true,
Sought the Northwest Passage through,
But the way was harsh and hostile too,
With uninhabited lands, that no one knew.

They hired an interpreter, who could speak,
With the natives they might meet,
And guide them on their perilous quest,
Through unknown lands, with no rest.

They built a pirogue, light and strong,
To cross the waters, that were long,
And a keelboat too, to carry their gear,
And face the dangers, without fear.

They crossed the Continental Divide,
To reach the other side,
And saw the beauty, that nature hides,
In places where no one resides.

They boiled their food, in pots so big,
And drank from streams, with a twig,
And sang songs, as they journeyed along,
Their hearts filled with joy and song.

So if you ever feel the urge,
To explore new lands, and converge,
With nature's beauty, wild and free,
Remember the tale, of this brave journey.
