In times of old, before our day,
Brave colonists set out to play
On ships that sailed a mighty fleet,
Their hearts so full, their souls replete.

They charted out a route so true,
With compasses and maps anew,
Across the ocean's vast expanse,
They sailed with hope and bright advance.

They ventured forth with courage bold,
Their story waiting to be told,
And soon they reached a land unknown,
A place that they would call their own.

A New World, full of hope and cheer,
A place to build a settlement here,
They worked with strength, and love, and might,
To make their dreams come into sight.

They found a channel to the sea,
Where ships could sail so fast and free,
And from that day, they prospered well,
Their story now we love to tell.

So let us honor those before,
Whose voyage opened up new doors,
And set a path for us to follow,
With hope and courage we can swallow.
