The Adventures of the Dotted World

A Lot of Fun with Little Dots

A lot of fun, that's what we've got,
With cots and dots and spots and knots.
We don't forget, no, not a jot,
Just let your imagination take the shot!

We can make a blot of ink,
And watch it spread like magic think,
Or draw a hot air balloon,
With dots that rise up to the moon.

We can tie a knot in a rope,
And make it tight, or make it loose,
We can spot a bird way up high,
Soaring in the sky, up in the sky!

So come on kids, let's have some fun,
With lots of dots, one by one,
We'll make a picture, big or small,
And have a blast for one and all!

Reflections

  1. What kind of things did the kids make with the dots and spots?
  2. What was your favorite part of the story and why?
  3. Can you think of other things that you could make with dots?
  4. What does the word "knot" mean and what did the kids do with the rope and knot in the story?
  5. Do you think you would like to explore the dotted world like the kids in the story? Why or why not?
