In a crate, I saw a plate
With a date, it was quite great
A state of joy, I couldn't wait
To eat my food, I couldn't be late

But then I heard a creaking grate
I opened the gate, it was quite late
My food was cold, I felt so fate
But still, I ate, with a smile on my plate

So remember kids, don't be so late
When it's time to eat, just open the gate
And sit at the table, don't hesitate
To enjoy your meal, on a plate with a date!
