At my desk I sit with glee,
With my faithful dog beside me.
I rest my elbow on the shelf,
And dream of adventures to be had myself.
I am energetic and bold,
Just like a duck swimming in the pond,
With flapping wings, so light and free,
I feel so happy, just wait and see!
But sometimes when I spin around,
I feel a little dizzy, I'll admit it now,
And like an egg in its perfect shell,
I need a moment to catch my breath and well.
An envelope arrives with a special treat,
And I feel my spirits lift, can't be beat!
With excitement in my heart, I know,
This day will be filled with laughter and glow.
