The Joys of Possessions: A Children's Poem

A hat upon my head so tall,
A carpet soft beneath my feet,
An umbrella in my hand to shield,
From raindrops tapping on the street.

A dog with wagging tail in tow,
A tie around my neck so neat,
A blouse of finest silken cloth,
To keep me looking very sweet.

A car so shiny, red and new,
A coat to keep me warm and dry,
A case to hold my pencils bright,
And shirts of every color high.

So many things to make me glad,
In this big world we call our home,
With laughter, love and lots of fun,
We’ll never feel alone!
