The Elephant and the Singing Bird: A Lesson in Listening

Once upon a time, there was a small village where all the animals lived in peace and harmony. One day, a strange noise woke up all the animals from their slumber. It was a blaring, booming, deafening noise that made their hearts race.

The animals gathered together to find out what was causing the loud noise. They followed the sound and found a big elephant who was trumpeting his trunk so loudly that it was shaking the ground.

The animals tried to calm the elephant down but he was too loud and wouldn't listen. Suddenly, a faint sound caught their attention. It was a gentle humming sound that seemed to come from the sky.

As they looked up, they saw a beautiful bird flying overhead. The bird's voice was so sweet and melodious that it was soothing to their ears after the grating noise of the elephant.

The bird started to sing a song so softly that the animals had to be very quiet to hear it. Soon, all the animals hushed and listened to the bird's song. The elephant, who was once so loud, became quiet and still, mesmerized by the bird's gentle voice.

When the song was over, the elephant apologized for being so loud and promised to be more careful in the future. From that day on, the animals learned to appreciate the beauty of soft, gentle sounds and to be mindful of the loud noises they made.

And so, peace and harmony were restored to the small village once again.
