Once upon a time, in a land filled with birds of all kinds, there lived a Sandpiper named Sam. Sam loved to run along the shore and collect little bits of food that washed up on the beach.
One day, as Sam was happily searching for something to eat, he saw a group of birds having a picnic. They were a Turkey, a Swan, a Finch, a Goose, a Dove, an Owl, and a Flamingo.
"Hi there, what are you all up to?" asked Sam.
"We're having a picnic!" said the Turkey. "Would you like to join us?"
Sam was overjoyed! He had never been to a picnic before and was very excited to try all the food.
As they were eating, the Flamingo started telling jokes. "Why did the bird go to the seance?" asked the Flamingo. "To get in touch with its other side!"
Everyone laughed, even the serious Owl.
After they finished eating, the Goose suggested they play a game of hide-and-seek. Sam was a little nervous, as he had never played the game before, but he was willing to give it a try.
The Turkey was "it" and started counting. Sam decided to hide behind a big rock on the beach. But as he was hiding, he heard the most beautiful sound. It was the Finch singing a song.
"What a beautiful voice you have," said Sam to the Finch.
"Thank you, I've been taking singing lessons from the Swan," said the Finch.
The game of hide-and-seek continued and eventually, the Turkey found everyone. They all sat down on the beach, feeling happy and full from their picnic.
And from that day on, Sam and the other birds became the best of friends, always having picnics, playing games, and singing songs together. The end.
