The tree thought for a moment and then said, "Why did the scarecrow win an award?"

"I don't know," Lily said, eager to hear the answer.

"Because he was outstanding in his field!" the tree replied, laughing.

Lily laughed too. She asked the tree another question and another, and the tree answered each one with a smile.

From that day on, whenever Lily was feeling sad or needed a good laugh, she would go to the park and visit the magic apple tree. And the tree was always there, ready to answer any question and bring a smile to her face.
