The Golden Goose and the Gilded Egg

Once upon a time, in a magical land, there lived a golden goose named Glitter. Glitter was not like any other goose you've ever seen. She was special because she laid golden eggs! Everyone in the kingdom was thrilled and wanted to get their hands on one of those eggs.

One day, a greedy king heard about Glitter and her golden eggs. He decided he must have one for himself, so he ordered his guards to capture the goose and bring her to the palace.

Glitter was very scared and didn't know what to do. She felt very alone and helpless. But, as she was being led to the palace, she met a kind little girl named Lily. Lily took pity on the goose and offered to help.

Together, they came up with a plan to trick the king. They decided to make a fake golden egg using felt, concrete, glass, and a bit of gilded brass. Lily covered the concrete egg with felt and made it look soft and cuddly like a real egg. She then painted it with glass and gilded brass to make it shine like gold.

The next day, they presented the fake egg to the king, who was so convinced it was real that he took it eagerly. But as he was admiring his new treasure, the egg suddenly fell from his hands and shattered into a million pieces on the chalky palace floor.

The king was so upset that he banished Glitter and Lily from the kingdom. But, Glitter was happy to be free and together with her new friend. And the king was left with nothing but a pile of chalky egg fragments and a lesson learned: true happiness and riches can't be bought with fake eggs.

The end.
