Once upon a time, there was a little town called Flubbyville. It was a magical place where everything was always a little bit off and the residents loved it that way. But one day, the mayor of Flubbyville had a bright idea: they would downsize the town's expenses by insourcing everything they could. They wanted to make sure they were spending their money wisely and only on things that were absolutely necessary.
So, the mayor gathered all of the residents of Flubbyville and explained their plan. The people were a little bit confused but trusted the mayor and were eager to see how this plan would work. The mayor then deployed a group of action-takers to start the process of insourcing.
However, things didn't go exactly as planned. The first thing the action-takers tried to do was to fix the town's playground. They wanted to make it the best playground in the world! But, instead of making it better, they made it much, much worse. They used a ball that was too big for the ball pit, so whenever someone tried to play with it, they would fall right in!
Everyone in Flubbyville was a bit upset but then, they had an idea. They would evangelize their playground as the "world's biggest ball pit" and everyone would come from far and wide to visit it. They put up signs, advertised it everywhere they could, and soon enough, people started flocking to Flubbyville just to see the massive ball pit.
To their surprise, the people loved it! They loved the unpredictability of the ball pit and the fact that you never quite knew what was going to happen when you entered it. And, to dovetail with the success of the ball pit, the people of Flubbyville started insourcing more and more things. They fixed the streets, the houses, and even the mayor's office, making it all a little bit quirky and unique.
In the end, Flubbyville became the most popular town in the world and everyone was happy. And, whenever someone asked how they did it, the residents would simply smile and say, "We just learned to address our problems with a little bit of flub and a whole lot of action!"
The end.
