Once upon a time, there was a group of birds who lived in a tree. One day, they decided to have a race to see who could glide the farthest. The first bird took off with a half-hearted flap of his wings, but he soon found that he couldn't glide very far. The second bird tried to swoop down, but he ended up crashing into a bush. The third bird tried to flap his wings as fast as he could, but he only managed to go a fourth of the distance of the first bird.
Just then, an eighth bird appeared out of nowhere. He was small and didn't look equal to the other birds, but he had a secret. He knew how to glide like no other bird. With just a few flaps, he lifted off and glided effortlessly through the air. He went on and on, leaving the other birds far behind. When he finally landed, the other birds cheered and declared him the winner. From that day on, the eighth bird became known as the Glide King and the other birds learned to glide like him.
