Once upon a time, in a far-off land, there lived a major geologist named Major G. Major G was a very smart geologist and loved to explore the earth beneath our feet. One day while exploring, Major G discovered a huge chasm that seemed to have been caused by the eroding of the bedrock. Major G decided to investigate and see if there was anything interesting in the chasm.
He climbed down into the chasm and found a mine! It was filled with glittering gems and sparkling minerals. Major G was so excited that he forgot all about the eroding bedrock and jumped for joy. But as he landed, his weight caused the ground to shift. The eroding had affected the stability of the mine and it started to collapse! Major G quickly ran out of the mine just in time to see it disappear into the chasm. He learned an important lesson: always pay attention to the effects of erosion on the bedrock!
