Once upon a time there was a small town, where all the animals lived together. One day, there was a big storm and the rivers started to rise. The levee wasn't strong enough to hold back the water and it started to recede into the town. The animals were worried because the water was carrying all sorts of sediment from the riverbed.

Just then, a brave squirrel came up with an idea. He remembered that nuts are full of nutrients and thought that if he could make the water full of nutritious nuts, the sediment would turn into something good instead of something bad.

So he gathered all the nuts he could find and threw them into the water. To his surprise, the water started to change color and the sediment was turning into a beautiful, rich soil!

The other animals were amazed and asked the squirrel how he did it. He told them that by adding nutrients to the water, he was able to change its impact on the town. And so, the town's soil was filled with good things, and the animals were happy once again.

From that day on, every time it rained, the town's animals made sure to add nuts to the water so that the precipitation would be full of nutrients, just like the squirrel had done. And the town was known for having the richest soil in all the land!
