The Toxic Dictator and the Water Cycle”

Once upon a time, there was a toxic dictator who ruled a large plantation in a basin. The plantation was filled with sugarcane and the dictator was very proud of it. However, the ecosystem was suffering because of deforestation. The water cycle was disrupted and the plants were not getting enough water. One day, a Catholic priest came to the plantation and told the dictator about the importance of preserving the environment. The dictator didn’t listen at first, but eventually he realized the error of his ways and worked to protect the ecosystem. The water cycle was restored and the plants grew tall and strong once again. The villagers were happy and the dictator became known as the “Green Ruler”. The end.

  1. Why was the ecosystem suffering on the sugarcane plantation?
  2. What did the Catholic priest tell the dictator about?
  3. How did the water cycle change after the dictator changed his ways?
  4. What was the former dictator's new nickname?
  5. What can we learn from the story about the environment and our actions?
