Once upon a time, there was an eraser named Ernie. He lived in a school supplies store and loved to play pranks on all the other supplies, especially the pencils. One day, Ernie decided to play a joke on Pencil Pete, who always sat at his desk (which was actually a chair) with his nose buried in a book. So Ernie crept up behind Pete and rubbed himself all over the book's pages. When Pete went to write with the pen, all he could do was make smudges! Ha ha! Pete was so mad, he chased Ernie around the table, but Ernie was too quick. From that day on, whenever Ernie saw Pete, he would giggle and say "Gotcha again!"
