The Great Savannah Race

Once upon a time, animals of the savannah had a race to see who was the fastest. The polar bear, cheetah, cow, rhinoceros, lion, wolf, turtle, cat and zebra all gathered at the starting line, eager to show their speed.
The gun went off and they were off! The cheetah, being the fastest of them all, was in the lead by far. The others were struggling to keep up, with the polar bear falling behind. Suddenly, the turtle tripped and fell, causing a huge pile up of animals.
When the dust cleared, the turtle was sitting on top of the pile, smiling. "I may not be the fastest, but I'm certainly the most durable!", he said, as the others burst out laughing.
In the end, the cheetah won the race, but they all learned that it's not always about being the fastest, but about having fun and being there for each other.

Reflections

  • Who won the race in the story?
  • What did the turtle say after falling and getting up on top of the pile of animals?
  • Why do you think it's important to have fun and be there for each other, even when competing in a race?
