Once upon a time, there was a yeoman who lived on a small wharf by the yard. One day, as he was about to wake up, he noticed that his watch had stopped working. He tried winding it up with the winch, but it still wouldn't work. So, he decided to go to the nearby town to get it fixed.

As he walked, he noticed a wire hanging from a tree. He climbed up to see what it was and found a beautiful bird caught in the wire. The yeoman carefully freed the bird and watched as it flew away. Suddenly, the bird yawed and headed back towards the yeoman, dropping a golden watch in his hands.
