The Little House That Got a Makeover

Once upon a time, there was a little house made of wood. The house had a section of siding that was loose and needed to be fixed. The owner of the house tried to fix it himself, but he encountered a setback. He didn't know how to properly attach the siding to the sill.
One day, a wise old carpenter came by and offered to help. The carpenter brought with him a shim, a small piece of wood used to level things out. He placed the shim between the siding and the sill, then securely attached them together.
The house was now safe and sturdy. Next, the carpenter worked on the floor. The floor was made of a slab of concrete, but it was uneven. The carpenter placed slate tiles over the slab, but they kept cracking. So, he decided to use sleepers, long pieces of lumber, to level out the floor.
Finally, the floor was even and the tiles were secure. The little house was now perfect and the owner was happy. The end.
