Lily and the Freed Bird

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Lily who lived in a small house with her family. She loved to read books and had many of them stacked up in a big box next to her bed.
One day, as she was reading, she noticed that the door to her room was slightly open. She got up to close it, but before she could, she saw something move by the window.
She cautiously approached the window and found a small cage with a bird inside. The cage was open and the bird was trying to fly out the window.
Without thinking, Lily quickly closed the window and opened the cage, freeing the bird. She then ran to her dresser and opened one of the drawers, pulling out a jar filled with seeds.
She sprinkled some seeds on the windowsill for the bird to eat and watched as it happily pecked away. From that day on, the bird visited Lily every day and they became fast friends.
Lily learned that sometimes, all it takes is a small act of kindness to make someone's day.
