Once upon a time, in a far-off land, there was an ant who lived in a colony deep in the forest. One day, while out foraging for food, the ant stumbled upon a strange object. It was an ax. The ant had never seen anything like it before and being a curious creature, he decided to take it back to the colony to show the other ants.
As he was making his way back, he heard a loud noise. It was coming from a nearby river. The ant cautiously approached the river and saw a huge alligator sunbathing on the bank. The alligator noticed the ant and asked him, "What do you have there, little ant?"
The ant, feeling a bit intimidated, held up the ax and said, "I found this in the forest."
The alligator, impressed, said, "That is a very useful tool. Do you know how to use it?"
The ant, feeling proud, replied, "I may be small, but I am very clever. I can learn anything."
The alligator, with a smile, said, "Well, I have a job for you. My home is full of trees, but I can never seem to get rid of all the branches. With that ax, you can help me chop them down."
The ant, excited for the opportunity, agreed to help the alligator. As they worked together, they became friends. They worked all day, chopping down branches and clearing the way for the alligator's home.
As the sun began to set, a group of bats and bees flew by, heading home for the night. The alligator called out to them, "Hey, friends! Come and see what the ant and I have done!"
The bats and bees were amazed at the ant's hard work and thanked him for his help. As a reward, they gave him a beautiful butterfly bag to carry his ax in.
The ant, happy with his new friends and his beautiful bag, returned to his colony, where he told his fellow ants all about his adventures. From that day on, the ant was known as the "clever one" and was always sought out for help with difficult tasks. He lived happily ever after.
The end.
