The Monarch Butterfly's Home

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful monarch butterfly who flew from flower to flower, gathering nectar to eat. One day, she found a special plant called milkweed. She decided to lay her eggs on it because she knew it would provide the perfect soil and shelter for her babies to grow.

Over time, the eggs hatched into tiny sprouts and the monarch caterpillar began to eat the milkweed leaves. The caterpillar grew bigger and bigger until it formed a chrysalis. Inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar transformed into a beautiful butterfly just like its mother.

The monarch butterfly then flew away to visit more flowers and gather more nectar. Our customer, the milkweed plant, was happy to have provided the monarch with a home and food for its young. And their children will continue to visit the milkweed plant, from generation to generation.

  1. What did the monarch butterfly eat?
  2. What happened to the eggs that the monarch butterfly laid on the milkweed plant?
  3. What did the caterpillar turn into after it was done growing?
  4. Why was the milkweed plant happy to have the monarch butterfly as a customer?
  5. How will the story continue in the future?
