The Kingdom's Time Keepers

Once upon a time there was a kingdom where all the clocks in the land were different. There was a sundial, a digital clock, an analog clock, a candle clock, a grandfather clock, a shadow clock, a water clock, and even a cuckoo clock.

The sundial was old but very dependable. It told time by the sun's shadow on a dial. The digital clock was modern and showed numbers instead of hands. The analog clock had hands that moved around the face. The candle clock was unique, it used the melting of wax to tell the time. The grandfather clock was tall and elegant with a swinging pendulum. The shadow clock used the sun's shadow to show the time and the water clock used dripping water to keep track. Lastly, the cuckoo clock had a bird that popped out to announce the time.

One day, a power outage hit the kingdom and all the clocks stopped working except the sundial, the shadow clock, the water clock, and the candle clock. The king was upset and asked for help from the wise old man who lived in the mountains. He told the king that all these clocks did not need electricity to work, they used the laws of nature to keep time.

The king was amazed and ordered all the clocks in the kingdom to be changed to those that worked without electricity. From that day on, the kingdom was never late and always on time.

The end.
