Read together
Shapes covered the mat. A blue circle here. An orange square there. A green
triangle pointed up like a little tree. Red and yellow pieces waited in a box.
"Put the circle on the left," said the teacher. "Square in the middle. Triangle
on the right." Children checked each shape twice, then named the color out loud.
When the mat looked neat, they mixed the pieces and tried again faster. Shape and
color became one game: circle blue, square orange, triangle green, with red and
yellow ready for the next round. Learning stayed bright — and on the mat. They checked the meaning once more, spoke the key words aloud, and ended with a calm line that made the whole scene easy to remember the next day.
