Read together
In the desert market a stall sold torn maps and shiny junk. "I can afford it,"
said the traveler, jealous of another buyer's pile. Coins flashed in the heat.
"Wipe the dust first," said a wise guide. "See what is worth keeping. A torn
corner still shows the road. Junk that cannot guide you is a prison for your
coins. A prisoner of regret spends twice."
The traveler paused. Instead of buying everything, they chose one clear map and
left the rest. A wick lamp glowed in a nearby tent. Wind moved the canvas softly.
The path ahead felt open — not a prison of regret, but a wise choice made in time,
with lighter pockets and a clearer plan.

What did the guide suggest instead of buying the junk, and why?
