Hide and Seek by the Sea

Friends play tag and hopscotch, then invent a hide-and-seek game with a duck, a goat, and a toy robot near the sunlit sea.

Read together

The sun sat high over the sea. Friends finished hopscotch in the sand and a quick
game of tag. "Now play hide and seek," called Jin, "but the robot comes too."

A duck waddled past. A goat from the petting path chewed a rope. A pig snorted
from a farm cart parked nearby. A cow watched as if judging the rules. A rabbit
hopped under a bench and became the first good hiding place.

Jin tucked the robot behind a bucket. "Count to twenty!" Everyone scattered.
Someone tried to play soccer with a soft ball between rounds, then ran back to seek.

When the robot was found, they cheered and started again. The sea kept shining.
Tag, hopscotch, soccer, and hide-and-seek filled the afternoon until the goat
wandered home and the duck returned to the water.

Reflection

Which games did they play before hide-and-seek, and where did they hide the robot?
